I suppose this isn't a subject that I, in the past, have believed in. It only happens in the movies, right? I've never met some one then instantly felt a strong connection to. Until now.

Well I guess I'll go ahead and give you the whole story.

One of my best friends is getting married, so a couple of us guys decided for his bachelor party to take him into West Virginia for the weekend, spend one night at a friend of ours bar, then Sat take him to some casinos. We figured this was a better alternative than the whole cliche of going to a strip club and getting him a lap dance.

After going about 4 hours out of the way, thanks for the directions Bob, we finally made it to Point Pleasant W.V., and made it to our first destination. Muddy Waters. Our friend Scott, the owner of Muddy Waters, opened up about 3 months ago and was doing okay. Just your little bar, middle of town, some locals, and a karaoke machine.

You may, or may not, have heard of the Point Pleasant Mothman festival. I never had. The movie The Mothman Prophecies was about some events that occurred in this little town, and each year they hold their fest for it. We just happened to be there this particular weekend, when freaks from all over the country show up to show that they believe, or what ever.

One of the employees at the bar was telling me about the festival, and told me there was a statue of the mothman in the middle of town. So we decided to walk over and see the statue. While walking back, he yelled across the road to a girl walking and asked if she was going to come sing at the bar, she crossed the road, said she was heading home from work and didn't know if she felt like hanging out. After hearing her accent, asked where she was from and she replied Hawaii. So of course I'm instantly intrigued.

She ended up coming into the bar, sitting next to me, so of course I had to start a conversation. After a few minutes I realized that this was a girl that I could get along with, not just some chick, but some one with insight, a personality, just simply a beautiful person.

Now looking back I realize that this was supposed to be my friends weekend, I probably should have spent time hanging out with him, getting him trashed, you know, bachelor party style. But I was so completely intrigued with this girl that I paid him no attention, so much in fact, that when my friends went back to the hotel room, they left me at the bar. Well, my Hawaiian, told me that I could stay with her, then in the morning I could call my friends.

The next morning, when we woke, I called to have my friends come get me, and guess what, they had left town and were already at the casino. They said they where up early, ate, drove around, walked through the fest, then decided to leave because they didn't have any idea where I might be. My first reaction was fuck, I'm stranded. But then realized that they have to come through here to go home.

I spent the rest of the weekend with my lovely dark skinned girl (which by the way, in a little town in b.f.e., people give you some pretty dirty looks if your well, an interacial couple).

I've never been the type to get stuck on a girl, love 'em and leave 'em right? I've never known a connection like this though. When Sunday morning came around, and knew my friends were on their way, I was saddened that this weekend had to come to an end. In fact, we both even cried a little knowing that, until I can figure out when I have enough time off work, it's going to be a while before we could see each other again.

Now, Monday, I'm at work, and I feel like apart of me is missing. I feel like I've left part of me behind. I see her face and keep repeating her beautiful name over and over in my mind. I've never felt like this. I almost feel lost. With the busy schedule that I keep, work, a band, and every thing else that is life, I don't even know how long it's going to be before I can see her again.

Anyway, I'm starting to ramble. And I guess now that I am a believer in love at first sight.
